Controversial Plan to Charge Football Fans For Parking in Buccleuch Park Nets City $1,050

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—City officials announced that their controversial plans to charge for parking in Buccleuch Park raised $3,540 last Saturday.

But after paying city police and New Brunswick Parking Authority (NBPA) employees to enforce the new rules, the city netted just over $1,050. 

The controversial plans were in the works for several months, but the first time the details were revealed came at the September 3 City Council meeting, just three days before the plans were put into effect.

Governor Christie Joins Mitt Romney in East Brunswick For Birthday Fundraiser

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–Amidst a celebration of his 52nd birthday, NJ Governor Chris Christie joined former Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on stage for a celebratory fundraiser at the East Brunswick Hilton Wednesday evening.

The event was attended by Republicans from across the state, including many candidates and elected officials who also took to the stage to give speeches, as well as members of the general public who could afford the $150 entrance fee.

Douglass Residential College Admits Noted Rutgers Transgender Activist

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Earlier this year, the Douglass Residential College officially admitted Vanessa González, an influential LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, and asexual) rights activist in the Rutgers University community.

González, a Rutgers junior, officially joined the women’s residential college this year after receiving an acceptance letter in late April.
