Woman Reportedly Shot Six Times in Front of Remsen Avenue House For Parolees

UPDATE (4:10pm): Police confirmed the victim is a 26-year-old female from Hillsborough.  She "remains in critical, but stable condition" according to the NBPD, which is investigating the crime.

"The initial investigation suggests the victim and the attacker were familiar with each other prior to the shooting," said the official press release.

5 Weeks After Crash Injured Kids, No One Knows What Court Will Handle Fire Director’s Tickets

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—No court has assumed responsibility for handling two traffic tickets issued after the city's Fire Director struck three children in a crosswalk more than a month ago.

The tickets, which would typically be heard in New Brunswick Municipal Court, are expected to be transferred to a different jurisdiction due to the obvious conflict of interest.

But officials have not yet determined which municipal court will handle the case.

Fiesta Comunitaria Celebrando la Inauguración del Centro Comunitario en Remsen Avenue

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ— El nuevo Centro Comunitario Unity Square tuvo una ceremonia de inauguración el Jueves en 81 Remsen Avenue en la esquina con Suydam Street, sitio de una anterior estación de bomberos.

Y Viernes, 13 de junio, visitantes al nuevo centro pueden disfrutar a una presentación pública del primer partido de la selección Mexicana en el mundial a las 12:00 pm. Más tarde, habrá una fiesta comunitaria en la calle enfrente del centro.

5K Summer Series Kicks Off in Highland Park After Six-Year Stint in New Brunswick

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—Race number one of the 31st annual Raritan Valley Road Runners (RVRR) 5K Cross Country Series kicked off this week in Highland Park’s 90-acre Donaldson Park, across the river from the Hub City.

The summer series includes four 5K’s, with a "Youth Development Running Series" held before each race, taking place over four Tuesday evenings in June and July.  The remaning dates this season are: June 24, July 8, and July 22.

New Brunswick Celebrates Rich History at Annual Hungarian Festival

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—People from all over the region enjoyed the festivities associated with New Brunswick's 39th Annual Hungarian Festival this past Saturday, June 7.

Much of Somerset and Plum streets were closed to automobile traffic to accomodate the large affair.  Hungarians from near and far, as well as neighborhood residents cashed in on the gorgeous weather, filling the streets.
