EDISON, NJ—For decades, theater goers have waited for the return of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s pop operetta redo of Billy Wilder’s classic drama of Hollywood’s underbelly.

Wrangled in legal ownership issues, cost overruns, a fired Patti LuPone, feuds, and being labeled one of Broadway’s flop hits, Sunset Boulevard’s non-equity rights were not available until recently.

Diversity Stride Fundraiser in Buccleuch Park Draws a Crowd

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–On Saturday, June 14, the American Conference on Diversity's annual Diversity Stride Walk-a-thon was held in Buccleuch Park.

The organization sought to raise money towards their education and awareness programs while spreading their organization's message of togetherness.

“This day is dedicated to promoting community unity,” says the American Conference on Diversity President and CEO Elizabeth Williams-Riley.

School Board Bans NBToday Print Edition From Their Meetings, Reverses Decision Days Later

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—At Tuesday's Board of Education meeting, longtime board attorney George Hendricks ordered school security guards to cease efforts to distribute the print edition of this newspaper.

Saying that New Brunswick Today "has a lot of political information in it," officials declared that it could not be distributed on school grounds.

19-Year-Old Rutgers Student Accidentally Elected to County Republican Committee

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers University Junior Asad Asif was inaugurated earlier this month as a member of the Middlesex County Republican Committee, a position to which he was unanimously elected with one vote, his own.

Asif, age 19, did not go into the June 3 primary election with any expectation of taking office three days later, nor did he vote for himself for selfish reasons.

Rutgers Doubles Down on TEDx Programming

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers students who find their 80-minute classes too long will be able to attend a different kind of lecture this year: one that spans eighteen minutes and addresses a single topic of concern to the modern world.

Based on the "TED talk" model, the short presentations are named for the Technology, Education, and Design conference started in 1984.

Woman Who May Have Jumped From 12-Story NBPA Parking Garage Worked at RWJ Hospital

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A 50-year-old woman from Burlington County who authorities say jumped to her death from the top of the Plum Street Parking Deck two weeks ago has been identified by NJ.com's Anthony Attrino.

According to a police report obtained by Attrino, the woman was a nurse at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, located across the street from the 12-story parking garage.
