Drunken Man Cut in Fight Near Former SigEp Fraternity House

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating an "aggravated assault" incident on Saturday, July 18 near a fraternity that lost recognition from its national chapter and Rutgers University.

Police first learned of the incident after a "stabbing" victim had already checked in to nearby Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital.  The crime occured at approximately 1:45 a.m, according to a Rutgers crime alert.

Rutgers Governing Board Approves 2.4% Tuition Increase

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ – The Rutgers Board of Governors unanimously approved today a $3.78 billion operating budget with a 2.4 percent tuition increase, bringing the average tuition cost for the full time Rutgers-New Brunswick undergraduate up by $276.

Last year, a full time Schools of Arts & Sciences student had to pay $10,945, and for the 2015-2016 academic year, that number will increase to $11,217. Part-time undergraduate students will see their tuition go up an average of $9 per credit.

Former Rutgers Athletes Score Big Wins on National Stage

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–July has been a winning month for former Rutgers athletes playing in the pros.

Dominant showings by former Scarlet Knights soccer player Carli Lloyd and baseball player Todd Frazier have the nation buzzing about the university on the banks of the old Raritan.

First, Lloyd led the United States Women’s National Team to a FIFA Women’s World Cup Title, the nation’s first since 1999.

Proposed Merger Would Create Largest Hospital Chain in Jersey

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–A historic agreement between Barnabas Health and Robert Wood Johnson Health System will create NJ’s largest health care system, if approved by the government.

The new hospital conglomerate would consist of more than a dozen hospitals with nearly 30,000 total employees in New Jersey.  The chain would be named RWJ Barnabas and representation on the entity's Board of Trustees "will be evenly divided between the two organizations."
