Former NBPD Director Joe Catanese Hired as Assistant City Attorney

UPDATE: City spokesperson Jennifer Bradshaw confirmed that Joe Catanese was hired almost six months ago, on May 11, at a salary of $25,000.

"He works approximately seven hours a week strictly on OPRA documents. He was appointed by TK Shamy."

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Joseph J. Catanese, an attorney who led the New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) from 2000 to 2008, has joined the city's Law Department as an Assistant City Attorney.

New Brunswick Music Scene Archive Launches at Alexander Library

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers University Libraries launched a new project, dubbed "the New Brunswick Music Scene Archive," on October 22.

The library hopes the archive will help document local music history, which has been scattered and driven underground over the past few decades, but not forgotten.

"New Brunswick has been host to a vibrant musical community for such a long time," said Christie Lutz, the Head of Public Services at Rutgers Libraries.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ— Una mujer que no ha sido identificada murió el domingo 18 de octubre aproximadamente a las 1:30 p.m., después de saltar desde el garaje de la calle Paterson en un "aparente suicidio", según las autoridades.

El vocero del Departamento de Policía de Nueva Brunswick (NBPD) capitán JT Miller dijo que la agencia investigó "un aparente suicidio cuando un individuo saltó del aparcamiento de la calle Paterson calle ayer por la tarde."
