New Brunswick Conference Focuses on New Jersey’s Dutch History

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The New Netherland Institute (NNI) hosted their 39th annual conference about the New Netherlands on the campuses of Rutgers University and the New Brunswick Theological Seminary.

Based in Albany, New York, the organization has celebrated and drawn attention to "America's Dutch roots."

It was the first time that the event was in New Jersey, the site of "Pavonia," a key Dutch settlement early on for the province of New Netherland.

Middlesex County to Hold Another Sheriff’s Academy This Fall

EDISON, NJ—It's not too late to sign up for the next Sheriff’s Civilian Academy, being held this fall by the MIddlesex County Sheriff's Department to educate residents on the various functions and duties of their office.

Applications to participate in the free program are due by August 12.  To be eligible, one must be a resident of Middlesex County, at least 18 years old, and pass a limited background check.

New Partnership Connects St. Peter’s to PA-Based Home Care Provider

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A Pennsylvania-based health system has partnered with the Saint Peter’s Healthcare System to offer at home care in Middlesex and Somerset Counties, according to a June 30 press release.

The new partnership is called "Holy Redeemer Healthcare at Saint Peter’s," and involves Holy Redeemer, one of the largest home care providers in NJ, and St. Peter's, which runs one of the two major hospitals in New Brunswick.
