Freeholders Re-Appoint Thomas Kelso to Public Job With $178,000 Annual Salary, No Set Hours

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Middlesex County Freeholders were not aware of the salary of their top attorney Thomas Kelso, but the board was still ready to grant him another three years as the county government's top attorney  at their December 4 meeting.

Kelso, a close political ally of former New Brunswick Mayor John Lynch Jr., was re-appointed to another three-year term in the powerful position of "County Counsel."

Robber Strikes Rutgers Student in Face and Gets Away, Leading to Fifteenth Crime Alert of Semester

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A Rutgers student was robbed of his wallet and struck in the face after being approached by two men on Central Avenue at approximately 7:10pm on December 2, according to a university crime alert.

The alert was not sent to Rutgers community members until more than 22 hours after the crime occurred.

It marks the fifteenth crime alert issued this semester, including messages sent regarding burglaries, robberies, assaults, and sexual crimes like groping.

Forum For Dialogue, a Faith-Based Conversation on Tolerance

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Tonight at 5:30pm in the Multipurpose Room of the Rutgers Student Center on College Avenue, there will be a new type of event on campus.

An interfaith discussion, free and open to the public, will be hosted by the Rutgers-based organization Student Peacemakers.

The Peacemakers aim to facilitate discussion on issues concerning tolerance, peace, religion, human rights, inclusivety and global advancment.

VIDEO: No One Arrested as Police Brutality Protest Takes Over Rt. 18

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Tensions ran high on Friday as protest organizers steered a crowd of well over 100 people onto Route 18, the city's main artery, taking a historic stand against racism and the lack of accountability for police killings across the country.

The protest had the same beginning and ending points as one held two weeks earlier, but took a more circuitous route through much more of the city, including several stoppages of traffic.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—La compañía de desarrollo de New Brunswick llamada DEVCO ha publicado un nuevo nombre y potencial diseño para un masivo remodelación para reemplazar el Ferren Mall y el piso de estacionamiento llamado The Hub @ New Brunswick Station.

La compañía del promotor, quien está trabajando con el New Brunswick Parking Authority, el dueño actual, confirmó que también ha llegado a un trato con Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) el promotor de inmuebles y gerente de inversión.
