Rutgers Football Adds Three-Star Defensive End Tymir Oliver

PISCATAWAY, NJ—Rutgers University's football team has once again added a new member to its growing 2016 recruiting class, as Pennsylvania defensive end Tymir Oliver has committed to the program.

Oliver was long expected to end up at Rutgers, but finally made it official that he will be playing college football “on the banks” on August 5.

The pass rusher announced his commitment to the Scarlet Knights on Twitter: “Blessed to Announce My Commitment to Rutgers University #CHOPNation #RU16”

Former Chair of Rutgers Trustees Joins Rutgers Board of Governors

UPDATE (8/12): This article has been updated to include and reflect information provided by Sandy Stewart regarding the companies he co-founded.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Rutgers Board of Governors' newest member, North Carolina resident Sandy J. Stewart, was sworn in at the board's July 16 meeting in New Brunswick.

Stewart earned a Bachelor of Arts from the Rutgers Camden College of Arts and Sciences in 1981, and a Masters of Science from the Graduate School at Rutgers Camden in 1987.

Gonzalez Quits NBHA Board 14 Days After Being Named Chairman

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—In response to concerns about his residency, Luis Gonzalez resigned from his volunteer position as the Chairman of the Board of Commissioners at the New Brunswick Housing Authority (NBHA) on August 5.

"He resigned this afternoon," said City Council President Kevin Egan at the City Council meeting, just four days after this newspaper reported Gonzalez was living outside New Brunswick in violation of city law.
