Dueños de Agencias Enfrentan Hasta 20 Años de Prisión por Cargos de Fraude

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ— Los dueños por largo tiempo de varias agencias de trabajo temporal en New Brunswick y en otras comunidades fueron arrestados con cargos de primer grado, durante las redadas realizadas el 3 de febrero.

Los dueños de las agencias, residentes de Milltown Andrés y Jenny Minaya, estan siendo acusados por supuestamente ocultar más de $ 30 millones de ingresos, reportando una cantidad menor de numero actuales de empleados en sus agencias, fraude de seguro, y una declaración de impuestos falsa.

Rutgers Student Injured in Drive-by Pellet Gun Shooting on Nichol Ave.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A Rutgers student reported being struck in the leg with a plastic pellet shot from "an airsoft gun" believed to have been fired from a moving vehicle, according to a university crime alert.

"It is believed that the pellet was discharged from a passing vehicle traveling on Nichol Avenue towards Suydam Street," reads the crime alert on the bizarre incident, which took place Monday, February 9, at approximately 10:40 PM.

Mega-Crash on Turnpike Claims One Life, Sends 15 People to RWJ Hospital in New Brunswick

CRANBURY, NJ—Yet again, ice decorated the roads of New Jersey including its main artery, the NJ Turnpike, making driving conditions treacherous and causing a 23+ car pileup.

The highway turned into what one Twitter user called a "skating rink" between Exit 8 and Exit 8A in Middlesex County, leading to the deadly series of crashes in Cranbury Township.

Premiere of Documentary on Rutgers Student Veterans

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A film collaboration exploring the lives of military veterans at Rutgers University will premiere Thursday, February 12 at 7 pm on the school's Douglass campus.

The screening will be held in the Nicholas Music Center, located on 85 George Street.

The documentary, "The War After: Combat to Campus," is a joint venture of the Mason Gross School of Arts and Rutgers Veterans House. It focuses on the lives of the student veterans who are transitioning back to civilian life and pursuing a post-secondary education.

Cocaine-Dealing Housing Inspector Avoids Jail After Bust in City Vehicle

FREEHOLD, NJ—A Monmouth County judge has let New Brunswick's chief housing inspector out on probation after he was caught with a distribution quantity of cocaine in his city vehicle.

Michael Mahony was the Chief Housing Inspector for the City of New Brunswick for nineteen years, until he was busted with a "distribution quantity" of cocaine in his city-owned truck on December 19, 2013.
