Rendering Shows New Highrises Taking Over Entire Block of Paterson Street, Including Clydz

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A NYC-based pro-development website released a new rendering of a potential development that could replace the aging and abandoned Ferren Mall and parking garage in downtown.

The most recent rendering features a 1.7 million square foot complex, the highlights of which are two 300-foot towers that could surpass The Vue as the city's tallest building.

But the complex, in its latest incarnation, would also take out seven smaller privately-owned buildings along Paterson Street, across from the Middlesex County Courthouse.

New Brunswick Native Headed to His Second Super Bowl

FOXBOROUGH, MA—In his sixth season playing in the NFL, one of the best things that could have happened to Jonathan Casillas' career happened.

After spending the last year and a half playing for the struggling Tampa Bay Buccaners, Casillas was traded to the New England Patriots, who have established themselves as one of the greatest teams of all time.

In Tampa Bay, he played for former Rutgers University head coach Greg Schiano, who was fired after a rough 2013 season.

2015 New Brunswick Citizens Recreation Committee Meeting Schedule

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–One of New Brunswick's little-known government bodies can bring together a lot of political forces in one place.

The nine-member Citizens' Recreation Committee includes three members of the city's Board of Education, the Vice Chair of the New Brunswick Democratic Organization, and a City Council member who serves as a liason.

All nine members are city residents, who have been appointed by Mayor James Cahill.

Alberto Rivas Named Presiding Criminal Judge in Middlesex County

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The office of Middlesex County Assignment Judge Travis Francis confirmed that Alberto Rivas will be the next Presiding Judge of the Superior Court's Criminal Division.

Rivas, a resident of the Sixth Ward of Perth Amboy, has been a judge since  January 2010, having been appointed appointed by outgoing Governor John Corzine.

The role of the Presiding Judge is to supervise the business of the court, and Middlesex County has a lot of business to supervise.

Saint Peter’s Hospital Hosts 25th Annual MLK Day Celebration

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The Martin Luther King Holiday is about more than having a day off, said Reverend Dr. Harmut Kramer-Mills of the First Reformed Church of New Brunswick, the speaker at the 25th Annual Interfaith MLK Celebration at Saint Peter’s hospital.

“This is the first of our problems,” Harmut Kramer-Mills said.

“The fatal misunderstanding that Martin Luther King Day is just another day off.”
