Stellar Season For Rutgers Women’s Soccer Team Ends in NCAA Semifinals

CARY, NC—An historic season for Rutgers’ women’s soccer program came to an end on Friday, as the Scarlet Knights fell 2-0 to Penn State in the NCAA semifinals.

Rutgers’ first ever trip to the Final Four resulted in a matchup against Big Ten rival Penn State, the third meeting of the teams this season.

The December 4 matchup was a battle of two teams ranked in the NSCAA Coaches’ Poll top ten. In the most recent rankings, Penn State was ranked sixth in the nation, with the Scarlet Knights ranked ninth.

CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA—Rutgers women’s soccer continues its quest for a first-ever national championship on November 27 when the Scarlet Knights visit the University of Virginia Cavaliers in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

The matchup is a clash of Top 10 teams, as Rutgers is ranked #9 in the NSCAA Coaches’ Poll, while the Cavaliers are the top-ranked team in the nation.

Rutgers Women’s Soccer Seeking Victory in Big Ten Tournament

PISCATAWAY, NJ—The Rutgers women’s soccer porgram is just two wins away from becoming the first sports team in school history to win a Big Ten championship.

The Scarlet Knights will play the Ohio State Buckeyes on Friday, November 6, with the winner moving on to play in the Big 10's conference championship game on Sunday, November 8.

On November 1, third-seeded Rutgers defeated the sixth-seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers by the score of 4-1 to advance to the semifinals.

Rutgers Basketball Team Loses Four-Star Recruit Kwe Parker

PISCATAWAY, NJ—Rutgers men’s basketball season is still fast approaching, but the Scarlet Knights have already suffered a loss.

Highly-touted Class of 2016 prospect Kwe Parker has decommitted from the program, and will re-open his recruitment, Parker announced via Twitter on November 3.

Parker, a senior at Wesleyan Christian Academy in North Carolina, verbally committed to the Scarlet Knights in August.  He chose Rutgers over Florida, Florida State and Wake Forest.

Rutgers Men’s Soccer Closing in on Big Ten Title

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—With just one conference game remaining on their schedule, Rutgers’ men’s soccer sits atop the Big Ten standings.

The Scarlet Knights moved into first place on Sunday after taking down Ohio State, who had been ranked 18th in the nation in the NSCAA Coaches’ Poll.

Sunday’s contest was Senior Day for the Scarlet Knights, who honored their graduating seniors with a big win.

Former Rutgers Basketball Star Signed by NBA’s Indiana Pacers

INDIANAPOLIS, IN—Multiple sources confirmed that the Indiana Pacers signed former Rutgers forward Kadeem Jack to a training camp deal.

Jack, who graduated in May with a degree in Journalism and Media Studies, is the first Scarlet Knight to be signed by an NBA team since center Hamady N’Diaye was selected by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the second round of the 2010 NBA Draft.

The length and value of the contract were not immediately disclosed.
