Rutgers Men’s and Women’s Lacrosse Host Doubleheader

PISCATAWAY, NJ—Rutgers lacrosse fans will be treated to a double dose of action this weekend, as both the men's and women's teams will play at High Point Solutions Stadium on February 27.

The men's team has been the most pleasant surprise among Rutgers' spring sports. The Scarlet Knights come into the weekend contest at 2-0.

It is a small sample size, but the team has impressed in those two games, and have even received votes in the most recent Inside Lacrosse poll.

Rutgers Wrestling Ends Regular Season With Another Upset Win

PISCATAWAY, NJ–Rutgers' wrestling team will head to the Big Ten Championships riding a serious high after the Scarlet Knights pulled off a dramatic upset against #7 Lehigh at the Rutgers Athletic Center on Saturday night.

They will be vying for Rutgers' first conference title in a team sport since joining the Big Ten athletic conference.

Rutgers, ranked #13 in the nation, drew Lehigh in the NWCA National Duals when matchups were announced last Monday.

Rutgers Wrestling Earns Highest Ranking in Program History

PISCATAWAY, NJ–An outstanding season got even better for the Rutgers Wrestling team on January 12, as the latest USA Today poll ranked the Scarlet Knights #6 in the country, the highest ranking in program in history.

After a successful first season in the Big Ten in 2014-15, Scott Goodale’s team has taken huge steps in 2015-16.

The Scarlet Knights currently sit at 11-2 on the season, and are coming off their first Big Ten shutout after dominating Michigan State 34-0 at the RAC on January 8.

Top QB Recruit Decommits From Rutgers Football Team

PISCATWAY, NJ—Things have been looking up for Rutgers football under new head coach Chris Ash, but Scarlet Knights fans were hit with some bad news on January 11, as quarterback Anthony Russo announced he has decommitted from the program.

“I want to first thank CHOPnation for the continued love and support for the 8 months I have been committed there,” Russo wrote in a statement released on his Twitter page.

Rutgers Linebacker Steve Longa Declares for 2016 NFL Draft

PISCATAWAY, NJ–The Rutgers career of weakside linebacker Steve Longa came to a swift end on December 22 when the redshirt junior announced he will forgo his senior season with the Scarlet Knights and declare for the 2016 NFL Draft.

Longa is coming off his best season on the banks, as he recorded 113 tackles despite dealing with a nagging upper body injury for much of the season that even forced him to miss a game.

In each of his three years with the Scarlet Knights, Longa led the team in tackles.

New Rutgers Coach Will Be Paid Almost Twice as Much as Predecessor

PISCATAWAY, NJ–Rutgers’ weeklong search for a new football coach has come to an end, with the school hiring Ohio State University's co-defensive coordinator Chris Ash to be the team’s 30th head coach.

Ash has served as Ohio State’s co-defensive coordinator for the past two seasons, and won a national championship with the Buckeyes last year.

Ash will also make almost twice as much as Kyle Flood, the coach who was fired just eight days earlier.
