Dunellen Board Of Education President Arrested on Charges Of Child Pornography

DUNELLEN, NJ–The president of the Dunellen Board of Education, 67-year-old Phillip C. Heiney, was arrested early on the morning of August 23 for child pornography, according to authorities.

Heiney, who also represents Dunellen's school district on the board of the Educational Services Commission of NJ, faces charges for allegedly distributing child pornography on a peer-to-peer sharing network.

Heiney was charged with second-degree distribution of child pornography and third-degree of possesion of child pornography.

Key Food Cuts Back on Deliveries After Driver Allegedly Involved in Hit-and-Run

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Key Food supermarket on Kirkpatrick Street in downtown abruptly stopped doing deliveries just eight days after a hit-and-run crash involving one of their vehicles.

Key Food–like most supermarkets in New Brunswick–had offered to drive customers home if they spent at least $50 on groceries.

As NBToday reported in February, the store was using two vans to make over 200 such "deliveries" per week.

Teenage Musician Falls Off Stage During Hub City Theatre Festival

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–On August, 6, the Hub City Theatre Festival began with many people smiling and dancing, until one of the teenage musicians fell off a stage in downtown.

This free event was part of the Hub City Sounds summer concert series, which kicked off in July.

The first-annual theatre festival featured the jazz band from the New Brunswick Middle School and High School, acoustic singers, fire breathers, actors, and lots of food.

Missing Somerset Man Found Dead in Delaware River

BORDENTOWN, NJ—The body of a 29-year-old Somerset resident was discovered and removed from the Delaware River shortly after 11 a.m. on July 27.

NJ State Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Jones confirmed that the man found at mouth of Crosswicks Creek under the I-295 overpass was Juan Alberto, also known as Juan Henry Ulloa Alberto.

Alberto had been missing since he reportedly went for a swim in the river during a fishing trip on July 24.

Two Former NBHS Students Die as Vehicle Crashes Into Raritan

NEW BRUNSWICK,NJ—Two people died when a vehicle that may have been racing on Route 18 lost control, and crashed into the Raritan River near the Northeast Corridor railroad viaduct on July 25.

The crash happened at about 12:56am, just across the highway from the worldwide headquarters of Johnson & Johnson.

Shortly thereafter, ambulances and firefighters were looking for the vehicle in the woods between the highway and the river, according to emergency radio transmissions.
