NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On the evening of February 18, local activist Carlos Rojas plead guilty to a charge of "disorderly conduct" and paid a fine of $500 at the New Brunswick Municpal Court in downtown.
As we reported in October 2013, Rojas was unexpectedly arrested at the Hyatt Regency Hotel during the 2013 gala for the New Brunswick-based organization Latino Leadership Alliance of New Jersey (LLA-NJ).

FRANKLIN, NJ—Villagers Theater in Somerset, one of New Jersey premier non-equity theaters, held the thirteenth installment of its "New Playwrights" reading series last month.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Last April, University President Bob Barchi appointed Gregory Jackson to a newly-created position in his administration: Chief of Staff.
Previously a Rutgers Associate Vice President and Interim Vice Chancellor for Undergraduate Academic Affairs, Jackson has served as Barchi's "right hand man" from the beginning of his administration in September 2012.
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Authorities are still searching for New Brunswick residents Jonathan Rodriguez, 21, and Steven Perez, 19, two of the three men charged with the murder of Raheem Fuqua.
Fuqua was fatally shot in front of his house on Seaman Street last Saturday. The investigation has determined that Fuqua was the intended target of the shooting, which was not a random act.
