Asian-American Market to Replace Closed Edison Pathmark

EDISON, NJ—A supermarket operator doing business as “99 Ranch Market” is slated to open in Edison as soon as next fall, after remodeling the recently-closed Pathmark on Route 1 into an Asian-American grocery store, according to a legal filing in the A&P bankruptcy reorganization case.

The California-based company, Tawa Inc., was declared the successful bidder at the A&P bankruptcy auction on October 2, agreeing to purchase the lease, which dates back to 1986, and its “related assets” for $3.7 million.

Ordenanza Para Licencia Por Enfermedad Remunerada en la Agenda para SesiĂłn del Concejo de la Ciudad

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ –El Concejo de la ciudad de New Brunswick introducirá una ordenanza para la aprobación de Licencia por Enfermedad Remunerada para trabajadores en su reunión del 02 de Diciembre.

La ordenanza exigirá a los negocios proporcionar a todos los trabajadores de tiempo completo 40 horas de licencia por enfermedad remunerada cada año y 24 horas por año para trabajadores de tiempo parcial. 

Esta acción se realiza junto con casi una docena de ciudades a lo largo de New Jersey.

Crossroads Theatre Celebrates Culture of African Diaspora, Brings Theatre to Community

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Crossroads Theatre, located at the heart of Downtown at 7 Livingston Avenue, has a strong tradition of bringing African-American theater, stories, and traditions to the people of New Brunswick.

In 1999, Crossroads was the first African- American theatre to receive the Tony award for “Outstanding Regional Theatre” and they have been nominated for and won several other theatre and community awards.
