Rutgers Mini-MBA Program to Explore Impact Of ‘The Internet Of Things’ on Our Supply Chain

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–Rutgers Business School Executive Education announced the launch of a $4,995 certificate program slated to explore the impact of the "Internet of Things (IoT)" on the future of supply chain strategy in the business world.

The IoT is the concept of the Internet as a network with the potential to connect everyday objects and allow them to send and receive data.

A press release announcing the new program featured a video of a recently retired Johnson & Johnson (J&J) executive who will teach in the program.

Fashion for a Good Cause: Simuel’s Closet Moves to New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Natasha Rodgers grew up around her grandfather Simuel’s non-profit organization.

The group supported needy families out of the Humanity Baptist Church in Newark in the 60's and 70's with meal programs, a low-cost thrift-store, and a “safe-play street,” where she remembers playing with other children "without fear of being harmed" in a cordoned off section of the Church’s otherwise dangerous neighborhood.

Rutgers University Alumnus Creates “Fire Coach Kyle Flood” Online Fundraiser

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–On November 7, a GoFundMe user named “Concerned Alumnus” created a campaign to raise $1.5 million dollars to buy out Rutgers University football coach Kyle Flood’s contract.

The fundraising page is run by an anonymous person who identifies as a “very proud Alumnus of Rutgers University and [as someone who] will always continue to advocate for it.”

Luxury Tower Evaded Safety Inspectors Before Burning a Resident

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Boraie Development never registered their 25-story, 121-unit condominium building so that it could be inspected by the NJ Bureau of Housing Inspection, according to the state government.

In 1967, the New Jersey legislature adopted the "Hotel and Multiple Dwelling Law," which it deemed "necessary for the protection of the health and welfare" of New Jersey residents.

RU Student Government Creates Sexual Assault Prevention Committee

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Rutgers student government, known as the Rutgers University Student Assembly (RUSA), began holding meetings for the long sought after sexual assault prevention committee on November 5.

The meeting, held as part of the organization's weekly meeting, was reminiscent of a brainstorming session.  The new committee only had three members of its five members present.

NBPD Not Saying How Many People Were Stabbed on Halloween

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—More than a week after several people were stabbed in the Hub City, local police still have not answered basic questions about crimes that occurred during the chaotic Halloween weekend.

Among the crimes that went unpublicized were an incident where shots were fired and another where a masked man assaulted someone with "a rusty metal rod," according to police radio transmisions.

As we reported, the Rutgers University Police Department responded to a gruesome knife-fight in Mettler Hall on October 30.
