Free CorazĂłn Latino Festival at Archibald Park
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—This Sunday from 12 to 6pm, there will be a free event celebrating Latino and Caribbean culture at the Alice Jennings Archibald Park.
This event is open to the public and will have special programs for senior citizens and children.
Archibald Park is located on Wright Place, behind the McKinley Community School on Van Dyke Avenue.
Rutgers Football Coach Will Get Paid During 3-Game “Suspension”
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rutgers President Robert Barchi announced on September 16 that head football coach Kyle Flood has been "suspended" for three games and fined $50,000 after an investigation found Flood was in violation of the university’s compliance policies, and possibly its Code of Ethics.
But Flood will still be paid his seven-figure annual salary without interruption. As we reported, Flood became the highest-paid state employee after signing a lucrative contract extension last fall.
CASA Seeking Fall Volunteers to Help Foster Children in Middlesex County
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Those interested in helping children who have been removed from their birth parents' homes due to allegations of abuse and/or neglect can submit applications to volunteer with a Middlesex County-based organization known as CASA up until September 30.
CASA stands for Court Appointed Special Advocates, and the CASA of Middlesex County is just one of many branches of a national organization.
ProctorTrack Company Releases Statement on Status of Student Data
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Verificient Technologies, the company behind the student-monitoring, anti-cheating software ProctorTrack, finally began to notify Rutgers University students that it had deleted their personal data from spring semester 34 days late, according to a recently-signed contract.
That data includes video and audio of students taking online exams, as well as personal information about the student and their computer.
