Longtime Leader of Elijah’s Promise Moves on to Next Challenge

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Anyone familiar with the non-profit organization Elijah’s Promise, and its extensive efforts in New Brunswick, is well aware of the incredible accomplishments of departing former Director, Lisanne Finston.

Finston has been a force for good in New Brunswick for over twenty years, building Elijah’s Promise reputation as one of the most successful food policy programs in New Jersey.

Police: Bicyclist Robs Young Rutgers Couple with Fake Handgun

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Two unfortunate Rutgers students reportedly found themselves at the business end of an imitation firearm on the night of January 11, according to New Brunswick police.

The couple was walking somewhere near Guilden and Mine streets at the time, near the Olde Queen's Tavern, around 10:15 PM on a Saturday night when the robbery occurred

A man on a bicycle allegedly pulled the silver handgun out of his pocket, pointed it at the two 21-year-olds, and demanded, "Give me everything you have!"

Public Library Accepting Submissions for 7th Annual Photo Contest

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Brunswick Free Public Library has begun accepting submissions for its annual photography contest. 

Each year, the libray holds the photo contest in the spring, and allows for participants to send in their work. 

This program is free, open to the public, and refreshments will be provided!

For the spring 2014 contest, the theme will be "New Brunswick: Our Town," and submitted works are expected to revolve around appreciating the heritage and life of the city.
