North Brunswick Resident Shot at French Street Restaurant

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On January 10 at approximately 2am, a North Brunswick man was shot in the leg weilding a silver handgun in Camilo's restaurant, located at 114 French Street.

The gunman came into the restaurant demanding money from the register, and when one man handed over his wallet, an altercation broke out between that man and the suspect.

The North Brunswick resident, who was not identified,  came to the victim's aid, and was shot in the leg by the suspect.

New Brunswick High School Nurse Laid to Rest After Fatal Car Crash

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Anne Egan, a nurse at New Brunswick High School, was killed on January 8 in a fatal car accident in Howell Township, Monmouth County.

Egan, a 59-year-old resident of Sea Girt, was killed when her 2010 Subaru Forester was hit by a 2011 Ford Ranger pick-up truck who was being operated by Daniel Boden, 24-year-old man of Marlboro.

A funeral was held at the O'Brien Funeral Home in Monmouth County on the morning of January 13.

Tumulty’s Pub Hosts Annual Fundraiser For Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—For the sixth year in a row, Iguana Music and Tumulty’s Pub will be joining forces again for an annual fundraiser this Saturday to benefit the city's only soup kitchen.

Tumulty's, the city's oldest restaurant, will host the annual for Elijah’s Promise’s annual fundraiser in hopes to help support the many services the soup kitchen provides to the New Brunswick community.

Coverup of Purposeful Traffic Jam at George Washington Bridge Deals a Blow to Governor Christie

TRENTON, NJ—Governor Chris Christie announced the firing of one of his closest aides this morning, the third appointee of his to fall victim to an embarrassing scandal involving a purposeful traffic jam caused to punish a local politician.

On September 9, two of three toll booths serving an onramp to the George Washington Bridge were blocked by cones and re-assigned to serve through traffic.  This caused traffic to back up throughout the nearby town of Fort Lee.

The new traffic pattern continued to wreak havoc for four days.

NB Chief Housing Inspector Mike Mahony Caught in City Vehicle With “Distribution Quantity” of Cocaine

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Michael Mahony, the city's chief housing inspector since 1994 "was arrested and taken into custody near his residence while driving a city- owned vehicle," according to a State Police.

Mahony "was found with a distribution quantity of cocaine during the arrest," according to today's press release describing his December 19 arrest.
