Sayreville PD Officer Quits After Admitting Guilt in Dashcam Cover-up

SAYREVILLE, NJ–A police officer lost his job after admitting he covered up his patrol car's dashboard camera while running a “quick, personal errand.”

James P. Pizzillo, age 33, pleaded guilty to a fourth-degree charge of tampering with public records on August 3.

Pizzillo was admitted into the pre-trial intervention (PTI) program by Judge Michael Toto on September 25.

The Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office had recommended one to five years of probation, without any jail time.

Councilman Arrested with Cocaine After Crashing Into Parked Car

 JAMESBURG, NJ—A 49-year old Jamesburg Borough Councilman is facing possession of cocaine charges, and several traffic violations, after crashing into a parked vehicle on July 7. 

Thomas Busco, who is also a member of the Borough Council's Police Committee, was “unresponsive” as he rear-ended a legally parked Hyundai Genesis on Buckelew Avenue, according to the crash report.

Busco was allegedly found with the drug in his 2010 blue Ford F-150 pickup truck.

Judge: Spotswood Board of Education Violated Transparency Law

SPOTSWOOD, NJ—The Spotswood Board of Education has been found in violation of transparency regulations in the state's Open Public Meetings Act (OPMA), according to a January 7 ruling.

Middlesex County Superior Court Judge Lisa M. Vignuolo ruled that the Board did not sufficiently disclose the details of closed-door meetings and violated the law in five different ways.
