Peter Ludlow, a candidate for a professor position in Rutgers' prestigious philosophy department and a current professor at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, has been accused in a February 2014 lawsuit filed against the university.

New Brunswick Landlord Arraigned in Killing of College Student

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—In front of a crowded courtroom, at least a half-dozen television cameras were trained on Timothy Puskas, a 38-year-old man who authorities say is a killer.

Puskas was arrested Friday and charged with aggravated assault in an unrelated case, and charged with first-degree murder yesterday in the murder of a college student who was found dead in a stranger's backyard.

Large Chunk of Stucco Suddenly Falls From Commercial Avenue Bar

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Around 1:40pm this afternoon, a large portion of a bar building collapsed onto the sidewalk near the intersection of Seaman Street and Commercial Avenue.

D'Gala, located at 156 Commercial Avenue, was closed this afternoon and city officials were on scene assessing the damage.

A neighbor who frequently complains about the bar's impact on surrounding properties said that, as a huge chunk of stucco siding fell off the building, it sounded like a high-speed car accident.

One Person Killed by Train in New Brunswick, Four Others Injured

UPDATE (7:05pm): This article has been updated to include comments from NJTransit.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—One person was killed after being struck by a train at the New Brunswick train station shortly before 5pm.

"According to eyewitness reports, the subject was leaning in the path of the oncoming train," said William Smith, an NJTransit spokesperson.

Four more people standing on the platform were injured as the train struck the person, who was identified only as an adult male.
