Minimum Wage Hike Approved As Incumbents Win Re-Election Across The Board

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Thousands of workers in New Brunswick will get a raise, thanks to the 61% of New Jersey voters who approved a constitutional amendment to increase the minimum wage in yesterday's election.

Results provided by Assistant City Clerk Leslie Zeledon show that the question passed by an even larger margin here in New Brunswick, where 80% of voters supported the $1 wage hike, which will automatically rise to account for inflation in future years.

Voters in Hub City to Decide Who Will Represent Them in NJ Legislature Today

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Governor's election isn't the only one taking place on today's ballot.  New Brunswick voters will also select the next Middlesex County Sheriff, three Middlesex County Freeholders, two State Assembly representatives, and a State Senator.

New Brunswick is a part of Legislative District 17, which also includes Franklin, Milltown, North Brunswick, and Piscataway.

In the August 2 interview, Buono said that a former chairman of the Middlesex County Democratic Party who helped marshall support for her past campaigns had obviously broken the law and should be punished.

New Pay-by-Phone Option Offered at Every City Parking Meter

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Parkers can now pay by credit card at any parking meter in New Brunswick, including those without any credit card slots.

Last month, the New Brunswick Parking Authority implemented a pay-by-phone service, Parkmobile, to serve the 830 of the city's 1000 meters that have no slot for credit cards.  The system also works at the credit-card enabled meters as well as an NBPA lot on Somerset Street.
