NJDOT: Avoid Junction of Routes 1 & 18 Every Night This Week

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) is in the process of conducting repair work on the Route 18 bridge over Route 1 in New Brunswick, as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.

The New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) issued a traffic advisory warning for residents to "expect heavy congestion and traffic delays" every night this week, Monday through Friday.

New Brunswick Parking Authority Theft Scandal Continues to Unfold in County Courthouse

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Yesterday, a county judge decided to postpone the sentencing of two former New Brunswick Parking Authority (NBPA) employees convicted in January of official misconduct for failing to report thefts by their fellow employees.

The two men convicted are Emil Hanna, who worked for the authority since 2001 and made $30,304 annually, and Emad Naguib, who worked for the authority since 2003 and made $26,872.

“Rave For Sandy” Fundraiser at Tumulty’s Saturday

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Tumulty's Pub on George Street will host 'Rave For Sandy' this Saturday night, an event organized by two local DJ's to support the Hurricane Sandy New Jersey Relief Fund.

The fund, chaired by First Lady Mary Pat Christie, was chosen by Matt Lev and Vincent Verderosa because of its reputation and Garden State roots.

"I chose Hurricane Sandy NJ Relief Fund because it was the most reputable fund, which helps directly with New Jersey Relief efforts," Verderosa said.

Racketeering Charges For 15 Alleged Gang Members Arrested in 2012 Stray Bullet Murder Case

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO) announced today that 15 alleged gang members and associates are being charged with racketeering for engaging in a turf war that claimed the life of an innocent man last May.

All 15 were officially charged with conspiracy to commit racketeering, the first time the MCPO has ever issued such a charge.
