Missing Somerset Man Found Dead in Delaware River

BORDENTOWN, NJ—The body of a 29-year-old Somerset resident was discovered and removed from the Delaware River shortly after 11 a.m. on July 27.

NJ State Police spokesperson Captain Stephen Jones confirmed that the man found at mouth of Crosswicks Creek under the I-295 overpass was Juan Alberto, also known as Juan Henry Ulloa Alberto.

Alberto had been missing since he reportedly went for a swim in the river during a fishing trip on July 24.

Highland Park School Finishes in Top Ten For “Great Crayon Cleanout” Contest

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ–—Irving Primary School in Highland Park won a prize for being in the top ten for their work in the Great Crayon Cleanout by saving 125 pounds of crayons from local landfills.

Many used crayons end up in local landfills, which is both wasteful and bad for the environment.

For the Great Crayon Cleanout, students were tasked with finding old, loose crayons in their homes and schools, ones that were unlikely to be used again.

NBPD Investigating Stabbing in Schwartz-Robeson Public Housing

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—City police are investigating what residents believe to be a stabbing near Bergen Court, in one of the city's public housing projects on July 26.

According to the New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD), a 28-year-old man from Bound Brook "sustained non-life threatening injury to his lower back from a cutting instrument" at about 3:27pm.

Police said that the victim was transported from the Schwartz-Robeson public housing complex to Robert Wood Johnson Hospital.
