Alerta De Delincuencia: Jóvenes Detenidos Después de un Robo Violento en Cook Campus

NORTH BRUNSWICK, NJ— El Departamento de Policía de la Universidad de Rutgers (RUPD) está investigando un asalto y robo en el campus que tomó lugar a las 6:15 pm del 27 de enero, según una alerta de delincuencia emitida cuatro horas más tarde.

El incidente involucró a una víctima afiliada a Rutgers y cuatro menores sospechosos de acuerdo con la alerta. El incidente se produjo cerca de la intersección de College Farm Road y Ag Extensión Way, cerca de la intersección con la Ruta 1.

RU Students Charged With Punching Woman and Stabbing Man in Downtown New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A 31-year-old city man is in stable condition after being stabbed multiple times by a Rutgers University student in a fight outside of a downtown bar, according to city police.

In the same incident, which occurred shortly after last call, a 24-year-old woman from Spotswood was also injured after she was punched repeatedly by two student suspects.

Darwin Chávez Ángel Gana El Concurso de Elaboración de Muñecos de Nieve de NBToday

NEW BRUNSWICK NJ—Darwin Chávez Ángel es el ganador del segundo concurso anual de muñecos de nieve de New Brunswick Today con un total de 223 votos.

Este año, hubo nieve suficiente con que trabajar, ya que New Brunswick rompió un record registrando 28 pulgadas de acumulación de nieve, el 23 de Enero. Se observaron 38 participantes en el concurso que fue organizado a través de la página de Facebook de NBToday.

As Interest Increases in 2016 Presidential Election, Central Jersey is “Feeling the Bern”

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—Bernie Sanders, the US Senator and former Congressman of Vermont, is running for Democratic Party's nomination for US President in the 2016 election.

Sanders is running as a member of the Democratic party and identifies himself as a social democrat.

After the first major test of the campaign, the Iowa caucuses, Sanders is neck-and-neck with his only remaining opponent, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

J&J to Pay $120 Million to Settle Thousands of Vaginal Mesh Lawsuits

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Johnson & Johnson (J&J) has made a serious move to settle thousands of lawsuits filed by women who assert they suffered injuries from vaginal mesh inserts made by its Ethicon subsidiary, according to a report from Bloomberg.

The settlement offer, said to be more than $120 million, would resolve between 2,000 to 3,000 law suits over the inserts, according to Bloomberg, which notes it is the “first big mesh settlement” for the Hub City-based medical-device manufacturer.

Political Figures Coming to Hub City For Eagleton Lectures This Month

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Eagleton Institute of Politics at Rutgers University is hosting several free lectures in the month of February.

The events are in honor of the institution's 60th anniversary this year. The theme of the anniversary events is "Make It Better."

The second event in the series will feature US Senator Cory Booker will be coming to Trayes Hall on inside the Douglass Campus Center at 100 George Street on February 16 at 7:00 p.m.

NBPA Could Switch to License Plate Reader Enforcement This Year

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Hub City residents could see all of the city's parking enforcement vehicles fully-equipped with license plate readers (LPR) by the end of 2016, according to the agency that has been experimenting with the technology. 

The New Brunswick Parking Authority (NBPA) tested license plate readers for parking enforcement in a three-month pilot program which ended on December 31.
