Tumulty’s Pub Hosts Annual Fundraiser For Elijah’s Promise Soup Kitchen

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—For the sixth year in a row, Iguana Music and Tumulty’s Pub will be joining forces again for an annual fundraiser this Saturday to benefit the city's only soup kitchen.

Tumulty's, the city's oldest restaurant, will host the annual for Elijah’s Promise’s annual fundraiser in hopes to help support the many services the soup kitchen provides to the New Brunswick community.

The event will feature live music Saturday, January 11 in the basement of Tumulty’s Pub, located at 361 George Street, starting at 8pm.

"As the local community continues down the path of economic recovery and also copes with this season's bitter winter weather, Elijah’s Promise is there to support those most in need," reads a press release from the event organizers.

Iguana Music is "a community of musicians from many long time area bands with a vision of bringing people together through music," according to the release.

Headlining the benefit will by Jenny and the Felines, along with other eclectic live music performances by The Fletchers and Dangerbird, a Neil Young tribute band.

Entrance will be free with a suggested donation of $10 or more.  Canned goods will also be collected in response to the continuing increase in demand from food pantries.

Tumulty's Pub will donate a portion of event receipts for the evening, and will be accepting donations in advance, either checks payable to Elijah's Promise or canned goods.
