College Avenue Players Present “Crazy Town”
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The College Avenue Players (CAP), Rutgers’ premiere student-run comedy troupe, will be performing the comedy, “Crazy Town,” on February 27-28 and March 6 in Room 135 of Scott Hall, located at the corner of Hamilton Street and College Avenue.
Performance will be held at 8pm on all three nights, and March 6 will also include a second 11:59 pm show. Tickets cost $5 for Rutgers students with ID and $8 for all others.
Rutgers Symphony Orchestra and American Repertory Ballet Performing “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Rutgers Symphony Orchestra and the American Repertory Ballet will be collaborating once again to present a new full-length ballet based on Shakespeare’s comedy, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream.”
The partnership comes on the heels of their 2013 collaboration of "Romeo and Juliet," another of Shakespeare's works.
Free Chinese Kunqu Opera Show For Valentine’s Day
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—At 7pm on Saturday February 14, a special Valentine's Day opera will be hosted on the Rutgers campus.
"The Splendor of Chinese Kunqu Opera" will be performed at the Nicholas Music Hall, located at 85 George Street on the Douglass campus of Rutgers. The event is free and open to the public.
Performers were invited to travel from Beijing, China for this event, making for an authentic Chinese opera performance.
Rutgers Theater Company Presents “The School for Scandal”
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Now through Sunday, February 15, the Rutgers Theatre Company will be performing “The School For Scandal,” at the Philip J. Levin Theatre, located on Douglas Campus in Rutgers University.
The show, which takes place in 18th century London focuses on the art of gossip, both in real life and celebrity gossip.
Performances of French Opera at Rutgers This Weekend and Next
NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The famous opera Lakmé will be performed at Rutgers four times in the next two weeks, at Nicholas Music Center, located in the Mason Gross Performing Arts Center at 85 George Street.
Performances are scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Fridays, January 30 and February 6, and at 2 p.m. on Sundays, February 1 and February 8, 2015.
