Stand-Up Comedy Scene Continues to Thrive in Middlesex County

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On Tuesday, December 16, "Colonel Mastodon" will present a stand-up comedy show at George Street Ale House in the heart of New Brunswick's art district.

The show starts at 9pm and tickets will be just $5.  The eclectic group of comics include Stefan Romanyszyn, Marlon Dunn, Jimmie Allinder, Seth-Michael Serrano, Haolun Xu, Patrick Goldsmith, Tommy Brennan and Daniel Wightman.

Rocky Horror Picture Show Screening at Historic State Theater

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On Friday, October 31 at 11PM the State Theater will host the ultimate Halloween audience participation film.

The theater will be playing the cult classic movie musical, "The Rocky Horror Picture Show," on their massive projection screen.  Tickets are $14.

The film stars include Tim Curry, Barry Bostwick, Meat Loaf, and Edison's own Susan Sarandon.  It also features such classic songs as "The Time Warp," "Dammit Janet," "Science Fiction/Double Feature," and many more.

Comedy Showcases Abound in Hub City This Week

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—New Brunswick is surely a hotbed of truly artistic people, and stand up comedians are no exception.

This week the Hub City will feature two great comedy showcases, starting with tonight's show in the basement of Tumulty's Pub, at 361 George Street.

On Thursday, October 24, Tumulty's is hosting the third Colonel Mastodon Showcase, featuring a dozen local comedians.  And, the following evening, Hidden Grounds coffee shop will host another great show.

Mason Gross Galleries Host Works by African and Caribbean Students

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–An untitled exhibition of sculpture, photography, and other works of art created by upcoming Bachelor of Fine Arts seniors and a recent BFA graduate is on display at the Rutgers Civic Square Building, located at 33 Livingston Avenue in downtown.

The "pop up" exhibit showcases the works of several artists, with many unique works displayed in the show. These diffferent works will be in a variety of mediums including sculpture, photography, and more.   All of the artists are of African and/or Carribean descent.
