Rajiv Satyal Takes a Stand at Stress Factory

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On Sunday, July 16, the Stress Factory will be featuring the comedic stylings of Rajiv Satyal, whose act includes a unique fusion of comedy and popular music.

The Stress Factory, located on Church Street, will be one of many stops on Satyal's East Coast leg of his nationwide tour, which runs from June 29 through September 21.

Comedy Shows Abound This December in New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—This month, comedy is on full display in the Hub City with several shows in local venues throughout December.

The New Brunswick comedy scene is talent rich. Many artists travel each week to show off their skill sets, however this month has many shows closer to home.

December is also  a great time to see high-level comedy in the Hub City at an affordable price point, with at least four shows with a cover charge of $10 or less.

Local Comedian Broadens His Horizons Through Podcasting

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Rishi Mathur is a regular performer at local comedy open mic nights, a comedian whose skill set has grown to include performing stand-up as well as creating podcasts and his own shows.

Mathur's  interest in comedy began at a young age.  The comedian, age 26, stated, “When all my friends were out having fun, I was at home glued to the TV and dedicated to the craft. In the eighth grade I would sit in class listening to Chris Rock and Eddie Murphy.”

Rutgers Club Gymnastics Holds Car Wash to Raise Funds

PISCATAWAY, NJ—The Rutgers Club Gymnastics Team will be having a free car wash on Saturday, August 15 from 9am-2pm at the Applebees located on 1282 Centennial Ave in Piscataway.

The Rutgers Club Gymnastics team is a student-run organization that represents Rutgers in competitions without the same financial benefit of being a varsity team.

"We also have various fundraisers throughout the year through meets that the team members work and other public events," said Caela Lenhardt, a member of the team.

A Night Of Comedy at Metuchen’s Forum Theater

METUCHEN, NJ—On Saturday June 27, the Forum Theater in Metuchen will be hosting a comedy showcase featuring many comedians with roots in the Hub City.

Colonel Mastodon is "comedy brand" created by comedian Daniel Farley in the summer of 2014 and since then this brand has been hosting monthly shows at Tumulty's Pub in downtown New Brunswick and Hailey's Harp & Pub in Metuchen.
