VIDEO: NBPD Investigating Incident Where Woman Forced to Ground by Three Cops

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A video posted to the internet on June 10 shows a woman being forced to the ground by three city police officers near the intersection of Easton Avenue and Condict Street.

Police on the scene told bystanders to "Get back, I don't want to knock you over," as the woman was taken down by officers and arrested.

Members of the crowd shouted "Assault on a black woman," and "Look at what he did," as the woman was being held down by officers on the sidewalk.

Silent Auction to Benefit CASA of Middlesex County

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—A silent art auction and live classical performance to benefit Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of Middlesex County, will take place at Pino's on Saturday May 30 at 8pm.

CASA of Middlesex County is a nonprofit currently looking for volunteers to start free training in Fall 2015 and is just one branch of a national organization that advocates for the needs of foster children in court.

Speakers Connect Palestine to American Police State at Rutgers PCRF Gala

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Just weeks before the state of Palestine was recognized as an official member of the International Criminal Court, several speakers at a sold-out event in New Brunswick compared the struggle of its people to the tension between police and civilians in the United States.

On March 12, members of the Rutgers chapter of the Palestinia Children Relief Fund (PCRF) successfully raised over $5,500 at their annual Spring Gala.

Holi Day Festival of Colors Celebration at Public Library

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–Spring is here!

And as usual, the New Brunswick Free Public Library will celebrate the coming of the season with a fun and traditional Holi celebration, on Saturday, March 28.

The library is located at 60 Livingston Avenue and the event is free and open to the public.

Holi is an annual celebration, an Indian tradition that is now celebrated all over the world.
