NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Tomorrow afternoon, Rutgers University's President Robert L. Barchi will be hosting the third of five University Town Hall meetings geared toward developing a strategic plan for the school.

The event is open to the public, and will take place in the Rutgers Student Center Multipurpose Room at 126 College Avenue starting at 3pm.

Members of the public will get the opportunity to questions ask Barchi in between his PowerPoint slides, but only certain questions.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On March 23, the New Brunswick Free Public Library celebrated Indian heritage as they honored the Holi Day tradition of color play for the fourth year in a row.

"Holi is the festival of colors," explained Kim Adams, Archival Librarian at the New Brunswick Free Public Library.

"It is celebrated differently all over India. It's celebrated all over the world."

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A city with a rich Irish heritage, New Brunswick is celebrating with traditional Irish food and drink at local venues like The Old Bay Restaurant and Tumulty's Pub.

The Old Bay's Free Irish Buffet on including corned beef, boiled cabbage, boiled potatoes, Guinness Irish Shepherd's Pie, and Irish Soda Bread.  According to an employee, the "buffet will start at 2pm, but doors will open at 1pm."

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Alfa Art Gallery celebrated five years in downtown New Brunswick last Thursday evening at their establishment, located at 108 Church Street.


Alfa Art, a non-profit, took time to honor the contributions of their many interns as they opened a new exhibit in collaboration with another non-profit organization, New York City's Sylvia Wald and Kim Po Art Gallery.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Tonight at 5pm, Elijah’s Promise will host an hour-long open house for anyone interested in receiving more information on their Promise Culinary School.

Elijah’s Promise, the city's only soup kitchen was founded in 1989.  Their Promise Culinary School was opened in 1997.

According to their website, they have taught "hundreds of students, preparing and placing them at jobs in the food service industry."
