Central Jersey Jazz Festival Coming to New Brunswick This Weekend

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—This Saturday, the New Brunswick Jazz Project is celebrating the Central Jersey Jazz Festival at Monument Square, located in front of the Heldrich Hotel.

This Saturday’s headliners include critically acclaimed jazz musicians such as drummer Ralph Peterson and the Unity Project, featuring saxophonist Don Braden.

This event is part of New Brunswick Cultural Center's free outdoor music series Hub City Sounds.

“Love New Brunswick” Free Concerts in Boyd Park This Weekend

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The outdoor music series "Hub City Sounds" will continue through the month of September with two free concerts this weekend in Boyd Park.

This September 7 and 8, coLAB Arts presents LOVE NEW BRUNSWICK WEEKEND: A Celebration of the eclectic music scene at Boyd Park.

This is the second year Hub City Sounds is being celebrated, now with even more participation from local organizations.

Wednesday Deadline to Apply For Cop Jobs in New Brunswick

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The New Jersey Civil Service Commission (NJCSC) is accepting applications for new police officers until September 4.

The announcement was made through the New Brunswick Police Department’s online alert system at Nixle.com.

To be eligible to take the civil service test for police officers, one must be a U.S. citizen with a valid NJ driver's license, be between the ages of 18 and 35 years old, and have earned a high school diploma or GED.

Free Concerts in Hub City This Weekend Include a Celebration of Oaxacan Culture

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Two free concerts this weekend at the Boyd Park amphitheatre will kick off the second annual Hub City Sounds music, dance, and arts festival.  

The festival is a new annual New Brunswick tradition, spearheaded by the New Brunswick Cultural Center, that features a series of concerts and live performances.  Each of the festival's events in August and September are free and open to the public.

New Brunswick Celebrates a Second Week of Restaurant Discounts

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Over forty different restaurants in New Brunswick are offering a variety of "Restaurant Week" deals this week, up from 25 that participated last year.

The two-week long discounts continue through this Saturday, July 27.  The campaign is organized by New Brunswick City Market, a quasi-governmental agency that promotes local businesses in the downtown area.
