Edison Library Board President Demands Answers From Business Administrator

EDISON, NJ–The March 23 Edison Council worksession meeting got a little heated during the oral petitions and remarks portion of the agenda.

Edison Library Board President Lisa Krauze took to the podium and questioned Business Administrator Maureen Ruane about what she stated was six weeks of unanswered emails, and no follow-up from a February 6 meeting with both Ruane and Mayor Thomas Lankey.

Freeholders Approve Land Deal That Benefits Retired Judge

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders unanimously approved a questionable land deal involving the potentially contaminated and undevelopable forest land of a retired judge and political insider.

The deal is for the county to spend $360,000 in open space trust fund taxes to buy land partly owned by Barnett E. Hoffman, Esq., a Democratic Party insider and retired Middlesex County judge.

Northeast Corridor Rail Service Suspended Due to Crash in Iselin

UPDATE (3:10PM): Amtrak spokesman Craig Schulz told Edison Now that service on the Northeast Corridor has resumed on 3 of the 4 tracks.  Trains are operating with delays of at least 45 minutes, and there are signal problems in the area of Metropark.

NJ Transit trains on the Northeast Corridor Line are operating with at least 60-minute delays.  Coast Line trains are operating with at least 15-minute delays.There was no estimate on when the fourth track would be working.

Exit Polls Indicate Positive Vote for New Edison School

EDISON, NJ—The prospects for a new school for Edison Township students looks good, as the voting winds down in the vote to issue $18.6 million in bonds.

The funds will be used to rebuild the James Monroe Elementary School that burned down March 22, 2014.

As expected for today’s referendum has been light so far. Polls opened at noon and close at 9 pm.
