New Fast Casual Burger Restaurant Opens on George Street

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—A new chain restaurant is officially open for business at 341 George Street as of Friday, January 23.

Located in the heart of downtown New Brunswick, in a space once occupied by Soho on George, "The Counter" will be open for lunch and dinner and also includes a full bar.

The restaurant is the chain's second location in New Jersey.  Other nearby locations are in Clifton and New York City.

White House Teams With Rutgers For Pilot Survey to Identify Scope of Campus Sexual Assault

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The White House Task Force to Protect Students from Sexual Assault recently selected the Center of Violence Against Women and Children (VAWC) at Rutgers University's School of Social Work to "pilot" a campus climate survey on sexual assault.

The Task Force was created on January 22, to address this issue in a time when many universities neglect, ignore, and harass victims of sexual assault on campus.

Community Food Alliance Planning New Garden Near McKinley School, Policy Potlucks

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The city's fast-growing Community Food Alliance gathered on June 10 to celebrate, quite literally, the fruits of their labor.

Members devote themselves to one of five areas of interest: agriculture, advocacy and policy, healthy food access, food and economics, and community engagement. Each division gave a short presentation showcasing its achievements.
