Immigrant Advocates Protest Murphy’s Plan For “Excluded” Workers Relief Fund

A 150-strong crowd of mostly undocumented low-wage workers, their families and their advocates marched in Newark on May 19 to protest the amount of money allocated to a COVID-19 relief fund for “excluded” workers announced by Governor Phil Murphy.

On March 17th, Make the Road New Jersey called upon NJ lawmakers - Gov. Murphy, Senate President Sweeney, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin, to recognize their immigrant roots and approve stimulus aid for undocumented taxpayers and weekly payments to all unemployed workers.
