NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Soon, the State Theatre will be presenting several Tony Award-winning musicals that celebrate dance, culture, and romance like Memphis in February, Rock of Ages in March, and West Side Story in May and the first week of June

Tickets for the show range from $35 to $75.

The 93-year-old award-winning venue, known for putting "Broadway in your backyard," proudly advertises their upcoming 2014 roster of touring versions of Broadway musicals as well as a performance called Broadway's Greatest Hits on March 21.

Godspell, known for its light-hearted religous folk sound of the 70's, visited the State Theatre in November, with more contemporary score including styles of music like rap and hip-hop.

And for Halloween last year, New Brunswickers got the chance to experience what it truly means to be an Addams—with the help of different cast members to play the roles of Morticia, Gomez, Wednesday, Pugsly, Uncle Fester, and Grandma Addams.

The modernized musical version of the famous 1964 show "The Addams Family" portrayed an unusual portrait of the American Family, and made several jokes about real life events such as Obamacare and Charlie Sheen.

And the weekend performances of The Addams Family had crowds clapping and snapping their fingers to the famous theme song.

Cast members were spotted after some of their performers, supporting local downtown businesses like the Harvest Moon Brewery or Christopher’s located at the Heldrich Hotel.

The State Theatre holds 1,800 patrons, from the young to the young at heart.  It was recently named the best venue in the world with 2,000 seats or less by Venues Today.  The State also made it on Pollstars list of the top venues in the world in 2013, coming in at #21, the best in New Jersey,

The theatre is also currently in the running for a JerseyArts People's Choice Award, which can be voted for online at JerseyArts.com.
