Three Oktoberfest Celebrations This Week in New Brunswick Area

Old Bay, Suydam Farms, and Mike's Courtside each Hosting Events for Beer Drinking Festival

People have been drinking beer in honor of October for almost 200 years.

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The German Oktoberfest is making its way to the Hub City this week!

The beer festival originated in 1821 at a royal wedding, and turned into an annual tradition that has spread across the globe. See below for three Oktoberfest celebrations in the city:

THE OLD BAY RESTAURANT

Today's Oktoberfest celebration costs just $15 admission, which includes an authentic German food buffet with live German music from Alpine Express, with ON7 Band and Mad Notes, giveaways, and more.

The Old Bay will have 24 international craft beers available. First draft beer is free

SUDYAM FARMS

The Promise Culinary School, Suydam Farms, and Pale Ales present an evening of local brew and seasonal foods, benefiting Elijah's Promise.

Tickets cost $50, and are limited to the first 150 people who register.

Several tasting stations will be set up in the greehouse in Suydam Farms. Over ten different brews from Pale Ales Housebrew Club will be paired with dishes prepared by the Promise Culinary School.

Mike’s Courtside will be having a block party on Elm Row. The street will be closed off to vehicular traffic.

There is no cover charge for the beer garden.

Local businesses interested in setting up a table at the event can fill out a registration form available. Inquire within. Tables are given out on a first come, first serve basis.
