Food Historian to Give Talk on "New Jersey's Wonder Fruit"

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On Wednesday, June 5, certified tea specialist and food historian Judith Krall-Russo, will speak at a public library’s program titled, “Blueberries: New Jersey’s Wonder Fruit.”

Those in attendance will learn about the history of blueberries, and how they were first cultivated in New Jersey.  Krall-Russo will also discuss the health benefits and different ways to prepare blueberries.

In 2010, New Jersey ranked fourth in the nation in the production of cultivated blueberries in 2010, according to a report issued by the US Department of Agriculture.

The talk, part of the library's monthly "brown bag lunch" events, will take place in Carl T. Valenti Community Room of the library, starting at 1:30pm.  The event is free, open to the public and handicap accessible.

Tea and coffee will be served.
