County and City Offer Free Document Shredding at NBHS

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ--In an effort to help local county residents safely and securely dispose of confidential documents, the Middlesex County Board of Chosen Freeholders and the City of New Brunswick are sponsoring a Shred Program.

The free mobile event is being held in the New Brunswick High School Parking Lot on Friday, July 8 from 9 am to 12 pm and it is exclusively for Middlesex county residents – no outside or commercial paper waste will be accepted.

Residents are encouraged to bring any private or confidential documentation including receipts, bills, credit card or financial statements, and there is no need to prepare waste by removing paper clips, staples, or other fasteners.

There are some restrictions for what can be processed – large media such as books, magazines, or CDs will not be accepted. Also, anything in a plastic bag or container will be rejected.

Residents are limited to either five standard file boxes or 100 lbs. of documents per car.

The event is rain or shine, but it is also first come, first serve and it will end early if the disposal truck fills up quickly.
