NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—No one was injured in a fire that damaged a building in a condominium complex in the Fourth Ward yesterday evening.

But the fire seriously damaged building eight at the Hampton Club condominium complex and displaced 26 families who were living there.

The fire was reported at approximately 5:55 pm, according to a report on New Brunswick's Patch.com.

According to the report, two units on the top floor sustained heavy damage, 10 other units sustained smoke and water damage, and 14 other units were evacuated because electricity and gas were cut off to the building.

The Hampton Club is a gated community in the Fourth Ward, located along Edpas Road, just off of Van Dyke Avenue.  The complex consists of 12 buildings, but was originally supposed to be even larger.
