ELIZABETH, NJ—A grand jury in Union County has indicted four men from Middlesex County in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on January 14.
At approximately 4 am on that Sunday morning, local police found 30-year-old Tyrone Osorio outside an Elizabeth Avenue restaurant suffering from gunshot wounds.
Osorio, the father of a young daughter, was transported to University Hospital in Newark where he died the following day.
“At such a young age of 30 no one in the world is ever prepared to lose a loved one this tragically,” reads a GoFundMe page set up to raise funds for the family he left behind.
New Brunswick residents Tyquan Fuqua, age 23, and Almalik Fuqua, age 27, were indicted on several charges, along with Milltown residents Allan Blackburn, age 29, and Derek Fuqua, age 40.
All four are charged with murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and three weapons offenses, and could be facing life in prison if convicted.
All four are also members of a family whose now-abandoned residence on Seaman Street in New Brunswick had been raided multiple times by various law enforcement agencies in recent years, and was characterized as a “heroin mill” by New Brunswick police.
Acting Union County Prosecutor Michael A. Monahan announced the indictments of the men on April 16.
The official statement from the Union County Prosecutor’s Office said that Union County Assistant Prosecutor Colleen Ruppert is prosecuting the case.
The announcement credited a “joint investigation” involving:
- the Union County Homicide Task Force
- Elizabeth Police Department
- Union County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit
- Union County Police Department Ballistics Unit
According to authorities, the four men were “arrested without incident by Prosecutor’s Office detectives several days after the shooting, with members of the Elizabeth and New Brunswick police departments assisting.”
