NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–A Perth Amboy man was sentenced to a 25-year prison term for a previously undisclosed kidnapping in 2014 , according to an announcement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO).

Francisco Green, age 35, was found guilty of first-degree kidnapping and second-degree attempted aggravated sexual assault after a 7-day jury trial at the Middlesex County Courthouse in New Brunswick back in January.

Green was sentenced to serve the 25 years in state prison on August 11 by Judge Benjamin Bucca, who worked as a lawyer for the City of New Brunswick for decades before being appointed to the bench by Governor Chris Christie.

Since that date, Green has been incarcerated at Southwoods State Prison in Bridgeton.

Green’s prison term is subject to the No Early Release Act, which means he will have to serve 85% of of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

Bucca also ordered Green to register as a sex offender under Megan’s Law and ordered that the defendant will be placed on Parole Supervision for Life upon his release from prison.

Green was charged with the crimes as part of an investigation by Detective Marcos Valera of the Perth Amboy Police Department and Detective Robert Torrisi formerly of the MCPO.

New Brunswick Today was not provided with a copy of the MCPO’s press release on the sentencing, the result of an apparent vendetta against this newspaper on the part of the public agency.
