MCPO: Un policía de Carteret está acusado de golpear un joven adolescente

CARTERET, NJ—El policía Joseph Reiman fue suspendido y acusado con tres cuentas de mala conducta oficial del segundo grado después de presuntamente golpear a un joven local y no prender la camera que es parte de su uniforme.

El asalto ocurrió poco después de que la victima de 16 años fue involucrada en un choque el 31 de Mayo, y ocasionó heridas serias a la víctima, y cargos serios para Reiman.

Three Men Plead Guilty in Random Killing of Hamilton Street Resident

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The family of a victim killed earlier this year, just a few steps from his Hamilton Street apartment will soon be served justice.

According to the June 26 press release from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO), the three men accused of taking the life of 29-year-old Enrique Perez Galindo, a father of four kids who was killed during a random robbery, have pled guilty to manslaughter.

50 Years Later, New Brunswick Looks Back on Summer of 1967

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The summer of 1967 saw racial tensions flare into violence and civil unrest in Detroit, Newark, and more than 100 other cities across the country.

The volatile year saw 159 riots nationwide, and informed the country of black frustration and agitations for civil rights.

While New Brunswick was not immune from the unrest, no one was killed here and many view it as a key turning point in the city's history.

Rutgers 4-H Summer Science Program Helps Kids Prepare For Careers in STEM and College

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–The Rutgers University 4-H Summer Science program took place on July 10-14 on the university's Cook Campus.

The program is designed to enrich young people’s interest and competency in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM), as well as develop "ambassadors," who share their experience and knowledge of STEM topics and campus life with other students in their hometown.

Three Charged in Fatal Shooting at Loop Inn Motel in Woodbridge

WOODBRIDGE, NJ—Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting at the Loop Inn Motel in Woodbridge that claimed the life of 21-year-old Bronx resident Andrew Torres.

The shooting took place at the couples-themed motel, located on Rodgers Street in the Avenel section of the township, just before 5 a.m. on June 21.

Torres was pronounced dead later that day, while another victim, a 24-year-old Bronx man, was critically injured.
