WOODBRIDGE, NJ—Police continue to investigate a fatal shooting at the Loop Inn Motel in Woodbridge that claimed the life of 21-year-old Bronx resident Andrew Torres.

The shooting took place at the couples-themed motel, located on Rodgers Street in the Avenel section of the township, just before 5 a.m. on June 21.

Torres was pronounced dead later that day, while another victim, a 24-year-old Bronx man, was critically injured.

The second victim, who police have not identified, was shot and transported to University Hospital in Newark, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office.

On July 10, 20-year-old Martin Martinez, Jr., also from the Bronx, surrendered to authorities just three days after they had chared him with two first-degree counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

Martinez was charged along with Cynthia Rivera, an 18-year-old from the Bronx, who turned herself in four days later.  She also faces two counts of conspiracy to commit murder.

Authorities also announced that a third suspect involved in the shooting, 20-year-old Bronx resident Chelsey Mendoza, was also arrested and charged in the case.

In addition to the conspiracy to commit murder charges, Mendoza is also facing two counts of second-degree hindering apprehension or prosecution.

Martinez has since pleaded not guilty from the Middlesex County Adult Corrections facility, before Judge Gary Price, according to Luke Nozicka of NJ.com.  He remains detained at the jail awaiting trial.
