NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Middlesex County is hosting a free paper-shredding event for residents on Friday, July 7, in the parking lot of New Brunswick High School, which is located at 1000 Somerset Street.

The event is part of a program that has been put in place by the county government to help county residents securely recycle their unwanted paper documents.

It is one of at least nineteen different paper-shredding events scheduled throughout the county this year, and the only one taking place in the Hub City.

This event is only open to Middlesex County residents. Businesses are not permitted.

Residents can bring up to 5 file boxes per person, or 100 pounds of documents per vehicle.

All files must be in manageable containers; plastic bags are prohibited.

The following items are not to be brought to the event:

  • Hardcover Books
  • Magazines
  • Newspapers
  • Bulk Mail
  • Photographs
  • X-Rays
