NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–It’s that time of year again!  New Jersey’s State University will be having their annual Rutgers Day celebration on Saturday, April 29 from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Rutgers University invited New Jersey residents of all ages to join the celebration, which includes events here, as well as in Newark and Camden.

People will be able to take this opportunity to explore Rutgers’ arts, humanities, science, technology and so much more through a variety of activities.

Rutgers New Brunswick will be providing music, dancing, performances, and much more for everyone’s entertainment.

Three out of the four campuses in Middlesex County – Busch, College Avenue, Cook/Douglass – will each have their own “theme” this year.

Piscataway’s Busch campus is the engineering, physical science, and medicine campus. Science enthusiasts can go there to see and learn from engineering, science, and math programs.  There are also activities around businesses and career as well.

The Rutgers Day Parade will proceed down College Avenue and through the Voorhees Mall.

On that campus, New Jerseyans will engage with historical Rutgers figures from the past and explore modern day Rutgers through student life programs.

There, kids can explore the international side of Rutgers through the Global Pavilion, and also see exhibits at the Geology and Jane Voorhees Zimmerli Art Museums, which will host special activities.

The Cook/Douglass Campus provides a mix of high-tech research centers and a lovely natural setting complete with an operational farm.

Residents can explore the history of Douglass Residential College for women, and see how it has grown to foster women’s leadership on campus and beyond its borders.

Visitors can expect to do plenty of walking to and from other parts of the festival. This is the best way to get from one location to another, due to heavy pedestrian and automobile crowds.

There will be a special bus route in service on that day stopping at the following locations:

  • Werblin Recreation Center
  • Busch Campus Center
  • Student Activities Center
  • Zimmerli Art Museum
  • Liberty Street/Rockoff Hall
  • Douglass Campus Center.

Rutgers day is a free event where people can enjoy and socialize on the campus.   More information is available at the RutgersDay.com website.
