Un hombre fingiendo ser policĂ­a, ataca a una mujer y se lleva su vehĂ­culo

EDISON, NJ — Un hombre fue detenido tras presuntamente atacar y robar el auto de una mujer en el estacionamiento de un centro comercial en Edison, esto ocurrió mientras se hacía pasar por un oficial de policía.

John Spina, un hombre de 44 años de Sayreville, entonces condujo hasta su ciudad natal a los verdaderos policías que persiguieron el vehículo robado. En el trayecto, Spina se estrelló tres veces y se lesionó.

East Brunswick Non-profit Sells Gourmet Popcorn For a Good Cause

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ—A local non-profit is helping young people on the autistic spectrum find meaningful employment all while selling gourmet popcorn.

Dr. Steven Bier of East Brunswick said he developed Popcorn for the People in 2015 to help his 26 year-old-son, who is high functioning autistic, find meaningful employment.

“I decided to take the bull by the horns,” Dr. Bier said, as he and a number of other local residents founded a non-profit called “Popcorn for the People.”

Highland Park Man Accused of Violent Sex Assault Charged With Megan’s Law Violation

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—A 23-year-old Highland Park man is facing a slew of criminal charges after he allegedly approached a woman on the street at gunpoint, before kidnapping, beating, and sexually assaulting her in front of her nine-month-old child.

Brandon O. Cox has been charged with at least 16 counts in the violent attack that occurred on Harper Street in the quiet town on February 19.

Professor Explains Discovery of Extinct Human Species to Rutgers Students

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ–On February 17, a group of around thirty people gathered in room #001 of the Ruth Adams building to hear a discussion on a newly-discovered extinct species of human.

William Harcourt-Smith, an Assistant Professor at the City University of New York's (CUNY) Lehman College, explained the excavation of "Homo Naledi" fossils to the audience, the morphology and behavior of these early humans, and their significance to palentology and to our understanding of our past.

Source: NBMS Students Were Forced to Run Outside in Winter For Violating Uniform Policy

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The school district's top official confirmed what an anonymous source told New Brunswick Today about an incident where students at New Brunswick Middle School were made to run outdoors in cold weather.

Superintendent of Schools Aubrey Johnson said on January 18 that he was aware of the controversial December 23 incident, which rubbed some in the school community the wrong way.

Was The Fatal Robbery on Hamilton Street Gang-Related?

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Police say they have apprehended three men responsible for the death of 29-year-old Enrique Perez Galindo, who died after being robbed near his home on Hamilton Street.

The victim was apparently "stabbed and robbed of cash outside his apartment" at about 2:30 a.m. on February 25, according to statement from the Middlesex County Prosecutor's Office (MCPO).

Perez Galindo "managed to return to his apartment," according to the statement, but he was pronounced dead at 2:39 a.m.
