NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ— A raíz de la retórica política anti-inmigrante del presidente electo Donald Trump, una contra-celebración de la diversidad de los Estados Unidos -y una fuerte oposición a sus políticas- ha florecido en New Brunswick.

Las protestas para demostrar apoyo a los inmigrantes – incluyendo una que atrajo a más de mil personas el 16 de noviembre – han priorizado en gran medida los temas de inmigración después de las elecciones.

Ledger: Turf Company Knowingly Sold Defective Fields to Taxpayers

HIGHLAND PARK, NJ—Middlesex County taxpayers spent hundreds of thousands of dollars for artificial athletic fields made by FieldTurf, a company that knew they were faulty and defective, according to an investigative report by NJ.com.

According to a series of articles by Christopher Baxter and Matthew Stanmyre, the company knew for years that the fields they were selling were defective and deteriorating years ahead of when promised, yet continued to go ahead with the sales campaign.

Bribery and Misconduct Scandal Rocks New Brunswick Water Utility

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The NJ Attorney General's Office isn't done with New Brunswick's embattled water utility just yet.

This time last year, the AG's Office was announcing that the city's former treatment plant operator pled guilty to public corruption, admitting that he covered up problems with the water supplied to customers in New Brunswick, Milltown, and parts of Franklin Township.

Crime Alert: Shots Fired in Broad Daylight Near Douglass Campus

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—City police are investigating a report of gunshots fired in broad daylight near Douglass campus of Rutgers University.

The incident occurred around noon on December 2 at the intersection of  Jones Avenue and Seaman Street, one block from the Jameson dormitories in the Second Ward of the city.

Though New Brunswick Police Department (NBPD) is investigating the alleged crime, it was Rutgers University Police Department (RUPD) that notified the public about the incident.

Foundation For Adult Autism Announces $100K Endowment at Rutgers School of Social Work

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation, the first non-governmental organization focused exclusively on autistic adults, announced a $100,000 endowment fund at Rutgers University earlier this year.

The groundbreaking fund, known as the “The Daniel Jordan Fiddle Foundation Adult Autism Family Support Fellowship and Resource Guide Fund,” will help teach Rutgers School of Social Work graduate students to work as clinicians in order to help improve the lives of families with an autistic adult.
