Trump Wins Presidency Despite Losing National Popular Vote

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—There was a somber mood in New Brunswick City Hall on November 9.

Local officials here in this Democratic stronghold are lamenting the victory of entertainer and real estate developer Donald Trump, who won the US Presidential election in a stunning upset one day earlier.

In every election district in the Hub City, Hillary Clinton handily defeated Trump.  Seventeen of the 25 municipalities in Democrat-controlled Middlesex County also saw more votes cast for the former First Lady than for Trump.

Pallone Wins Re-Election to 15th Term as Dems Sweep Middlesex Races

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—Incumbents won most of the local and county races in the 2016 general election, including longtime Congressman Frank Pallone, Jr.

Pallone has represented New Brunswick in Washington since 1991, and has been in Congress even longer, a fact that some consider a credit to the man's service.

Still others, such as his most recently vanquished opponent, Brent Sonnek-Schmelz, criticize Pallone for occupying the same public position for so long.

Middlesex County Voters Electing Three Freeholders and a Sheriff

NEW BRUNSWICK, NJ—On a November 8th, citizens across the United States will flock to polling stations not only to decide the nation's next president, but also in many communities, the fate of its county representation.

On the ballot, three candidates each from the Middlesex County Democratic Organization and The Middlesex County Republican Organization will be competing for three seats on the county's Board of Chosen Freeholders.
