President-Elect Trump Distances Himself From Chris Christie

NEW YORK, NY—New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, and several of his allies, were demoted from President-Elect Donald Trump's "transition team," leaving observers wondering what the future holds for the embattled official.

Christie shocked some by endorsing Trump earlier this year, becoming one of the first establishment figures to do so earlier this year, after previously suggesting he was unfit for the office during his own campaign for President.

TRENTON, NJ— La deuda estudiantil ha sido un asunto controversial en la Legislatura Estatal, con varios proyectos de ley de reforma que están siendo introducidos y discutidos en los comités y avanzando hacia su adopción.

La ley S-591 exigiría a los colegios y universidades que proporcionen paquetes de información, u "hojas de compra de ayuda financiera," que ayuden a los potenciales estudiantes a entender la gravedad de la deuda que ellos podrían estar asumiendo.

Carteret Woman Charged in Fatal Beating of 59-Year-Old Man

CARTERET, NJ—Sandra Simon, a 32-year-old woman from the borough, was arrested and incarcerated on November 7, on charges that she fatally bludgeoned 59-year-old Hector W. Torres in his home.

Torres was found dead at 12:03 am on October 11, according to the Middlesex County Prosecutor’s Office (MCPO).

His body was found on the first floor of his rented home on Holly Street in Carteret. 

According to the MCPO press release, Torres "suffered blunt force trauma to the head."

Zebras Football Team Makes Playoffs For Second Straight Year

EAST BRUNSWICK, NJ–The New Brunswick Zebras once again earned a playoff spot in the Central Group V State Tournament after besting the East Brunswick Bears to cap off their regular season on November 4.

The Zebras finished off another strong regular season, averaging 24 points per game and having won four of their last six games following a challenging 0-3 start against tough competition.
